Collaboration between Tsinghua University and Microbiotix: Mass Production of High-Transparency PHA Degradable Materials Becomes Feasible
In the pursuit of carbon neutrality, degradable materials have become an important alternative to petrochemical plastics due to their excellent carbon reduction capabilities. However, most degradable materials currently have low transparency, limiting their application in fields requiring high-transparency plastics.
Now, Tsinghua University and Microbiotix have successfully synthesized a novel PHA material with high transparency, transparency, thermal stability, and ductility. This material is suitable for flexible wearable devices and other applications with high transparency requirements. It can be used not only in daily consumer goods but also in solar cell packaging, high-end cosmetics, contact lenses, and advanced medical fields such as skin repair.
